My favorite and most used canvases are discarded cabinet doors. New kitchens are designed and produced daily, while old cabinets and cabinet doors are either sent to the landfill or used home goods stores. The cabinet doors are not just very good pieces of wood to collage on, they are also portals in which I can navigate the delicate interplay between life and death.
